  • Troop Meeting Wild Hat Holiday Party 12/17/2014
    Scouters
    We are having our Wild Hat Holiday party tonight!!!  Echo Lake
    We have Merit Badges starting at 7:00 to  7:30 - Safety, Family Life and Camping
    Then the festivities occur. Please wear a wild hat, Uniforms are optional.
    Party will go from 7:30- 9:00 PM Please bring your favorite board game

  • High adventure 2016 Kickoff Meeting 12/18/2014
    Scouters,
    If you will be 13 years old and completed 8th grade or 14 years old  by the summer of 2016 and want to have an adventure of lifetime. Please make sure one parent is at the 2016 High adventure Kickoff meeting. Whether it's swimming with Sharks, Seeing the Tooth of time, Zip lining at 70 mph per hour or Canoeing in Canada. There will be a trip for you. However, the trips required planning and must to plan  now. The Purpose of the Meeting is to see who is interested in going and to plan the first Fund Raiser meeting. The kick-off meeting will include a brief description of the four high adventure programs. If your scout is interested please ensure that your are there.

    32 Squankum Yellowbrook Road
    Farmingdale, NJ
    From 7:30 to 9:00

    Its very important to have one guardian representing the scout, no scouts

  • TROOP 258 HIGH ADVENTURE TRIPS FOR 2016

    MANDATORY SCOUT AND PARENT HIGH ADVENTURE MEETING:

     

    Date:                    December 18, 2014

    Time:                    7:30 to 8:30 PM

     

    Location:              SHEET METAL WORKERS’ LOCAL UNION NO. 27

                                322 SQUANKUM-YELLOWBROOK ROAD

                                FARMINGDALE, NJ 07727

     

     If you are thinking of going, YOU AND YOUR PARENT MUST ATTEND.  

    • If you cannot attend due to prior commitment please contact us ASAP.
    •  If you are interested, we will be accepting $100 deposits in January.  Please use a separate check for all High Adventure deposits.
    • Spaces will be limited and will be based on "first come first serve basis" from your deposits.
     

    SCOUTS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE: 

    Participants must be 14 years old OR completed 8th Grade and be 13 years old by the time of departure.  

     

    COST:

    Roughly estimated at $1500-$1800 per person depending on trip selected and transportation costs and crew size.  Final cost will be determined by actual expenses at time of booking flights, buses etc.  Some extra equipment or clothing may be required of participant specifically for the trip. We will be fundraising to help defray the trip costs. We have about 18 months to go.

    3) Summit-Bechtel Reserve,  West Virginia

    4)  Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico

    THIS TRIP IS RUN BY MONMOUTH COUNCIL. We will put you in contact will council coordinator on how to proceed if you are interested.


    Adults: Will possibly require (2 or 3) per crew, depending on the adventure.  Wilderness First Aid is required (2 day training)
    Crew size: Depends on trip
    Booking date: Early January 2015
    Passports: May be required, depending on trip

    Merit Badges are from 7:00 Pm t0 7:30 PM Meeting is from 7:30 Pm to 9:00 Pm 
    Merit Badges are Citizenship, (No Cooking tonight) and Medicine. Class A.  Scouts that have 
    the Experienced Uniforms and Scouts that have the Library please bring them in.

    Please get your Dues tonight. Pushups are counting on it
