• Volunteer opportunity - Sat April 20

The Slade Dale Salt Marsh Restoration Project will hold a volunteer day on Saturday, April 20th. We expect 50 to 100 volunteers, who will help place approximately 600 Christmas trees into a series of breakwaters and other features in along Beaver Dam Creek in Point Pleasant Boro. American Littoral Society (ALS) is organizing the event with help from the town government and various civic groups.

If volunteers have hip waders or wet suits (and PFDs) as the water is about three feet deep, they will be able to work in the water placing the trees in the breakwaters. Other people are needed to drop the trees into john boats to be ferried out and to drag the trees from the road into the marsh. There will also be work for people up on dry land.
