  • Last Call for sign ups for Fly Fishing Merit Badge

Last call for sign ups for Fly Fishing Merit Badge - Saturday 8/22/14
A local fly fishing club is teaching the Fly Fishing Merit Badge this Saturday August 22nd for select local troops at Sandy Hook National Park. It is an awesome day and an excellent opportunity.  We have a few scouts interested and already signed up.  The deadline for sign ups is COB today Wednesday 8/19/15. The club has reserved spots for Troop 258 and have decided to provide lunch as well this year so they want to buy the food!

If you are interested please call email Mr. Reinknecht at homerden@gmail.com to confirm a spot. Mr.Espinos will be attending and lending a hand as well.  Due to the number of slots available it will be first come first served.

We will coordinate transportation and adult leadership after we have our scout sign ups.  Due to the small size of group coordinating transportation should not be a problem. You will complete most of the requirements for the badge.

Event will occur at Sandy Hook rain or shine (in the park, very cool and beautiful) between 8 - 12AM.  Dress for weather.  All equipment will be provided.  We need to arrive just before 8 so no parking fees will be charged.

  • Awesome Fly Fishing Merit Badge Opportunity !!!
Fly Fishing Merit Badge - Saturday 8/22/14
A local fly fishing club is teaching the Fly Fishing Merit Badge next Saturday August 22nd for local troops.  The club has reserved up to 8 spots for Troop 258 if we have the interest.  The Troop has participated in this event several times and participating scouts had a great time.

If you are interested please call email Mr. Reinknecht at homerden@gmail.com to confirm a spot.  Due to the number of slots available it will be first come first served.  If we get overwhelming interest, we will look into adding another class with them in the spring.

We will coordinate transportation and adult leadership after we have our scout sign ups.  Due to the small size of group coordinating transportation should not be a problem.

Event will occur at Sandy Hook rain or shine (in the park, very cool and beautiful) between 8 - 12AM.  Dress for weather.  All equipment will be provided.  We need to arrive just before 8 so no parking fees will be charged. Bring $5 so we can stop for a hamburger on way home.
