  • Mr. Weldon Update
Mr. Weldon is doing better each day, he is very tired and needs lots of rest at this point.  He and his family are grateful to everyone.
At this time, the family is a bit overwhelmed.  So many people have reached out to help from their church, girl scouts, work and boy scouts that the family cannot keep up with everything.  After speaking with Mrs. Weldon, I told her that we would reach out to her again in the next week or so. Everyone in the Weldon family knows we are here for them and they will tell us if there is anything they need before then.  At this time please reframe from sending food as they have more than they need.   For now please continue to pray, and we will keep you posted.

    Yours in Scouting,

  • Prayer Request
Mr. Weldon, after having some health issues, was checked into Centra State Medical Center.  He will be undergoing surgery later this week.
He currently is in good spirits and we would like to ask all in the troop to keep him and his family in their prayers.  We will post news when we have something to share.  We will be sending the family a fruit basket on behalf of the troop. I am sure a card or two would be appreciated.

    Yours in Scouting,

  • Awesome Fly Fishing Merit Badge - ONLY 2 SLOTS LEFT !!!
Fly Fishing Merit Badge - Saturday 8/20/16
A local fly fishing club is teaching the Fly Fishing Merit Badge next Saturday August 20th for local troops.  The club has reserved up to 5 spots for Troop 258 if we have the interest.  The Troop has participated in this event several times and participating scouts had a great time.

If you are interested please call email Mr. Reinknecht at homerden@gmail.com to confirm a spot.  Due to the number of slots available it will be first come first served.  If we get overwhelming interest, we will look into adding another class with them in the spring.

We will coordinate transportation and adult leadership after we have our scout sign ups.  Due to the small size of group coordinating transportation should not be a problem.

Event will occur at Sandy Hook rain or shine (in the park, very cool and beautiful) between 9 - 12AM.  Dress for weather.  All equipment will be provided.  Food and snacks were included last year.  No parking fees are charge before 8 and if arriving after 8 AM you say you are going to the "Littoral Society" in order to waive the fee.
