There is a 2013 Annual Recognition Dinner for Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America on Tuesday, June 11th. It will be taking place at the Robert B. Meyner Reception Center- At PNC Atrs Center-Parkway Exit 116 Holmdel. ALL Scouting Volunteers, Spouses and Guests are invited. Annual Business Meeting starts at 6. Fellowship hour is at 6:30. Dinner is at 7:00 followed by the Silver Beaver Awards Ceremony. Get an application at:Click Here
There is a BattleGround District Picnic on Thursday, June 6th at 6:30. It is held at Monmouth Council Service Center- Ginesi Drive, Marlboro, NJ. All are welcome to this Annual Awards Dinner. Come and CELEBRATE! If you want an application talk to Mr. Napoli at the meeting.
YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING FOR ADULTS- We encourage all our adults to take the youth protection training for Boy Scouts. It only takes about a half an hour online and is good for 2 years. A current and valid training certificate is mandatory for adults going to summer camp and all adult leaders. This training is not the same course as the youth protection training you may have taken for cub scouts.
1. You do not have to be a registered member of the Troop or have a member ID to take Youth Protection training.

3. From the MyScouting.org portal, click on E-Learning and take the Youth Protection training.
4.Upon completion, you should print a certificate of completion to our Committee Chairperson Renee Morris for our Troop files. We suggest saving your certificate as a PDF file as well in case you need to produce it again or in case council loses it.

Troop 258/Pack 156 Leadership Opportunity
Troop 258 has been asked to run a Pack 156 pack meeting again this year. As always, all planning and execution of this event will be scout run. Scout Dan Jaichner is this years event Director. Interested scouts please see Dan, Robert Deleo or Richard Phleger on Wednesday if you are interested in participating. (New scouts are welcome too!)
Thursday April 25th, at 7:00 PM at Mr. Reinknecht’s house located at 67 Starlight Road Howell NJ (rain or shine). Meeting should conclude by 8:15PM. Dan wants you to bring ideas, pad and pen. You will be outside if weather is good. Dress accordingly. Adult advisers, Mr. Reinknecht and Mr. Fischer will provide 2 deep leadership at this meeting. This has been a rewarding and fun event for those that have participated in the past.
APRIL CAMPING - April 19-21 Camping at Resica Falls in Pa. This is tent camping and permission slips are available. Hiking through the waterfalls
MAY CAMPING - May 17-19 Gettysburg camping , this is tent camping and hiking through the battlefield. Permission slips are available.
SUMMER CAMP 2013 -
This years Summer Camp will be at Camp T. Brady Saunders owned and operated by the Heart of Virginia Council, Boy Scout of America. It is located in Maidens, Virginia in rural Goochland County. The camp offers a wide variety of merit badge programs along with adventure activities for older scouts. Along with Medical Forms, Youth Protection is required for all adults attending camp, please submit the date of Youth Protection completion also a primary telephone # is required. Also all trained leaders will also have submit the date of their completion.
Camp Fees are the following;
YOUTH FEES: $285.00
$255 EARLY BIRD SPECIAL - An Early Bird rate of $30 off will be applied to all Scouts who have 50% of their camp fees paid by March 07th, 2013 Balance due by May 15th,2013
ADULT FEES: $100.00
NO ADDITIONAL FEES FOR ANY MERIT BADGE OR PROGRAM!
This includes Handicraft Kits, Rifle, Shotgun Merit Badge Ammunition, Archery Kits, Voyager Trek, COPE & Ranger Challenge, etc. Does not include merit badge pamphlet As always, Please refrain from calling The Heart of Virginia Council

EXPERIENCED UNIFORM BOX - If anyone has any hiking boots or uniforms for our experienced uniform box please bring them in and give them to Mrs. Napoli. Donations of all scout clothing and equipment is welcomed.
