Belmar Arts needs help Saturday, July 2nd

    See  below.

Please contact Mrs. Worrell at 908.601.0524 if you can help,

    Day: Saturday, July 2nd
    Time: 9:00 am
Place:  Belmar Arts, 608 River Road, Belmar (where Joey Smith did his eagle project)

Good evening parents and Troop #258 members,

Belmar Arts is in need of some helping hands to assemble a tent on our outdoor patio area for a ceremony to be held on Thursday, July 7. The Belmar Rotary Club will be inducting its new slate of officers and the Belmar mayor, council members and Belmar Arts Trustees will be in attendance. We would like to have the tent available in the event of inclement weather.
The tent is very similar to the one that your troop uses for its annual flower sale and it can remain installed for the rest of the summer.
We appreciate your consideration of our request and we will gladly provide each participating scout with a service hours certificate as Belmar Arts is a registered 501(c)(3) non profit organization.

    With many thanks,
    Rebecca Szabo
    Executive Director at Belmar Arts

  • Thank you Troop 258

    Scouters,

Thank you for such a nice send off last Wednesday. The desktop gift was beautiful. Jeanette and I were very surprised and  touched by your continual support. Thank you all!

In retiring from scouting, I do so with mixed thoughts. I will miss all the adventures; weekend camping, plant sales, summer camps, service projects, Klondike Derbies and scoutmaster conferences. I will miss the Wednesday meetings, along with the enthusiasm of the younger scouts and the determination displayed by our young men earning their Eagle.

Troop 258 has the great fortune to have excellent leaders and very supported Scout families. It is this support structure that makes the troop great. Many of my closest friends are through scouting.

Mr Gawron will do an excellent job as Scoutmaster and I know you give him the same support and help that you gave me. Mrs. Peters is off to a great start and I know you will continue to support her as you have Mrs. Morris. Mr. Havens will need your assistance as you have helped Mr. Costa in the past.

To the leaders of the troop - thank you for your friendship, help and patience. It has been my honor and privilege working with you.

To the Scout families - as Mr. Reinknecht would say it, it’s like an express train, just jump on, hang on, and you and your son will have a great ride.

To the Scouts - thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Continue with your paths.

    Yours In Scouting.

  • Thank You!

    Dear Troop 258

Thank you all for the wonderful sendoff that I was given last night.  The vase was beautiful and very thoughtful.  It has been both an honor and pleasure to serve this troop as your committee chair for the past 7 years. I have known many of the scouts since cubs and have seen them grow into fine young men.  Parents have always been helpful when called upon and for that the troop has succeeded and grown into what it is today.

Tom and Vinnie my 2 friends without whom I could not have done my job well, always there to lend an ear and hand.  We have had our share of laughs, not over but now different. The camaraderie  is what made the troop work.

To the rest of the leaders too many to name but you know who you are my deepest thanks for all you do to make scouting fun and interesting and for all your help throughout the years.

    Yours in Scouting

    Renee Morris

  • **TENTS**TENTS**
If you have a tent PLEASE return it on Wednesday. The tents used this weekend should be clean and dry.   We are missing some tents from previous camping trips, all boys should look, you might have forgotten you brought home a tent after a trip.  Please look in your basement, garage, sheds, & under your sister's bed!  We need to take inventory so we can start the year off organized.

    Thanks Everyone!
