  • Troop Community Service Project - Sat, April 26 - 9AM
On Saturday, April 26, 2014, we will be meeting at Soldier Memorial Park (Lakewood Farmingdale Road, Howell) at 9am to work on our Community Service Project. We will be working along the stream banks of Squankum Brook to help spread material that was excavated from the brook,  branches and miscellaneous vegetation that were piled up during the stream restoration work done over the winter months. The work was done to create habitat and breeding grounds for native fishes, frogs and salamanders.

The material and some of these vegetation are blocking flows from the low lying areas and we need to help remove the blockage and help spread the material out. In doing so, we will help reduce flooding and provide habitat for the land animals living along the Brook.  The Division of Fish and Wildlife plans on bringing some plants for us to plant in some of the disturbed areas.

Tools needed for the work detail are:
    • Gloves
    • Shovels
    • Rakes
    • Garden shears
    • Axes
    • Hand saws
    • Chain saws
    • 5 gal buckets
    • Wheel barrows

We would appreciate if you will help pass the word along to other service groups that can help with this restoration work.

  • Flower Sale Update (Please Read)
    All,

Thank you for your support that you have shown your troop. We ran into a snag with the flowers being delivered. They have been delayed. Thus, all working 04/18/2014 in the morning do not have to report to their sites. All those working at 12:00 PM Please report to Southard site not your assigned sites. All those starting at two on report to the site your were assigned to. All those working on Sat or sun report to the site that you have signed up for. If you have any questions please call myself, Mr. Huy or Mr. Gawron

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work around this snag.  I am sure the weather will be good and the Plant sale will be successful.

    Your In Scouting
    Mr. Smith
