Drug Awareness

Instead of Meeting at Echo Lake we are a a troop attending the following:
Substance abuse has become a major problem within our community. Heroin specifically has spiked to record levels – to the point where Ocean County is currently training their officers to carry and use Naloxone (Narcan). Monmouth and many other counties are expected to follow as well. Howell Twp. (6th highest) was just slightly behind Long Branch in substance abuse admissions in Monmouth County. Raising public awareness is an important and vital step in helping reduce the number of potential and current users. Hopefully, getting the message out how substance abuse destroys families, friendships, and lives will help save all three. Next wednesday, January 15, at 7pm, the Howell Police Department in partnership with the Howell Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) will present a community forum at Middle School North in an attempt to combat this “epidemic”.
