>Csatari Art Show Postponed
Csatari Art Show Postponed until Sunday, April 10, 2016


Due to unforeseen situation at the National Museum and the development of a mold issue created by a faulty HVAC unit, a temporary hold has been placed on shipping of ALL Csatari and Rockwell Paintings by the Insurance Company until January 2016. We are happy to report that all cherished Art works are safe, but currently unavailable for transport until the Insurance Company releases the hold.

This will result in a postponement of our Art Show scheduled on 11/1/15 until April 10, 2016.

Stephen Smith, has been selected to become the new Scout Executive of the Midnight Sun Council headquartered in Fairbanks, Alaska. Please join us in congratulating and wishing Steve and his family all the best as they embark on this exciting adventure and new chapter in their lives. Our loss is truly the BSA of Northern Alaska’s gain. Steve will be with us through November before starting his new position.


>Welcome Kristan!

Monmouth Council is pleased to announce the selection of Kristan Purcell as the new Development Administrative Assistant for the Monmouth Council, BSA.

Kristan will play a crucial role in the Fund Development Office taking over the position held by the recently retired, Adrienne Gottlieb. We are happy to share that Kristan has a strong history in Scouting as she has two boys in Scouting units in the Twin Lights District. She has a wealth of experience in working as an Administrative Assistant as well as in Accounting.

Kristan’s first day will be Tuesday November 3rd. Please join us in congratulating Kristan and making her feel welcome as she joins the hard working staff of the Monmouth Council.

The purpose of this seminar is to review all Eagle requirements and offer aid in planning & completing the Eagle Service Project. The goal being to ensure parents & Scouts are all “on the same page”.

>Ten Commandments Hike III

National Jamboree: July 19-28, 2017 - Monmouth Council needs leaders to supervise our Jamboree contingent. Applications are now being taken for the positions of Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Crew adviser. For a list of qualifications, additional information, and an adult leader application, please visit the Monmouth Council Jamboree website.

All Adult leaders must be trained in their current positions to remain on the unit Charter for 2015. Visit the Training Page of the website for the a list of all upcoming training sessions and to register for a session.

Units in need of training should contact Stephanie Billings to arrange for training at the unit.

We will be offering Cub Leader training classes quarterly that will rotate locations in each of our four districts.

> Philmont 2016

Philmont 2016: Philmont is the ultimate high adventure camp. Monmouth Council will send 100 Monmouth Council Scouts and Scouters to Philmont on June 26, 2016. We have a few spots remaining. Please see website for more information:


The Philmont Contingent meets the first Tuesday of every month at the Council Service Center at 7:30 pm.

>Eagle Scout Workbooks

Attention Eagle Scouts! We have Eagle workbooks dating back to 1991. If you earned your Eagle Rank in Monmouth Council from 1991 through December 2014, or if you are from the Middlesex District and earned your Eagle Rank after the transition from Central Jersey Council to Monmouth Council, and your project workbook was brought to Monmouth Council for processing please come and pick them up.

If you would like to have your Eagle Project Workbook back, please contact Thayne Tessenholtz at (732) 536-2347 Ext 31 to schedule a time to pick it up.  All Eagle Project Workbooks will be destroyed after December 2015.

>Investors Bank Care 2 Share Program

Are you an Investor’s Bank Customer?  If you are presently a customer of Investor’s Bank or if you plan to move your accounts to Investor’s Bank in the future, you can be of great support to Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America.  If we can identify 75 families that presently use Investor’s Bank for their banking, the accounts will be designated for an “Affinity” program by Investor’s Bank.This means that each year, the Council will receive a check based on a percentage of the collective assets of those accounts.  The customer’s account will not be affected in any way.  This is a charitable program that Investor’s offer to non-profits.   • Volunteer Involvement Program Make sure to follow your company rules/requirements for logging and approving volunteer hours. Remember any time you spend helping your unit, whether it is driving for a trip, or event spending the week at summer camp counts as "volunteer hours."

The Scout Shop at Monmouth Council is now operating on the school year schedule. The hours for the Scout Shop will be:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9am to 6pm

Wednesday – 9am to 8pm

Friday – 9am to 5pm

Saturday – 9am to 2pm

Looking for a full time or part time job? Would you love to help Scouts and Scouters like yourself! The Scout Shop, located at 705 Ginesi Drive; Morganville, NJ; is accepting applications for part time sales associates. Flexibilitywith schedule is required. Looking for something to do with your spare time, a place to go to once a week and help a local charity. Join the BSA Mail Crew.

What is the BSA Mail Crew? It is a group of individuals who volunteer once a week (Thursdays or Fridays 9:00am to 12:00noon) to help the Boy Scouts of America assemble mailings.

Benefits: The knowledge and satisfaction of helping a local charity, free coffee & bagels and opportunities to attend some local Scouting activities as the guest of the council.
