Camp Cards are available!!!

What are Camp Cards:  The Camp Card sale is offered through the Monmouth Council and provides a no-risk opportunity for Scouts to earn their way to camp. Camp cards sell for $5 each and feature a variety coupons for local merchants. For each card sold, scouts earn $2.50 for the use towards camp.   • Summer Camp Promotions - Now is the time to schedule your summer camp promotion, contact kathleen.picciano@scouting.org 
  • Summer Jobs -  Positions available at:  Quail Hill are: CIT's. Contact Robin McBride at remcbride@gmail.com;  Forestburg are:  Program area staff, assistant ranger, and office receptionist. Counselors must be 15 or older, CIT's 14, program and area directors 17 and over.Please ontact Chris Quakenbush at Chris.Quakenbush@scouting.org
  • Pre-Summer Camp Swim Test - To help cut down check-in times for summercamp we will be offering pre-summercamp swim tests. Our pre-summercamp swim tests will be held on Saturday June 13, 2015 from 9am until 12pm and Sunday June 14, 2015 from 9am until 12pm both days at Quail Hill Scout Reservation. Sign ups must be done in advance and as a unit. We cannot accept walkins or individuals for testing. Your entire unit is not required, stragglers can be done during your Troop check-in. Please register for your swim test with Margie Ramirez at 732-536-2347.

  • Volunteer Involvement Program Make sure to follow your company rules/requirements for logging and approving volunteer hours. Remember any time you spend helping your unit, whether it is driving for a trip, or event spending the week at summer camp counts as "volunteer hours."
  • Matching Gifts if you have made your donation please contact your employer and fill out the necessary paperwork to make sure your "Matching Gift" is credited to your Unit!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:to assist at Family Camp at Quail Hill.  The stations are open from 10 - 4 pm for the cub scouts with an hour lunch break on Saturday June 13th.  If you can volunteer for the entire time (5 hours), we will give you lunch and dinner.  FREE Camping Friday (6/12) and Saturday (6/13) night to any patrols or troops that can assist.  Set up on Friday night requires all hands on deck.  If you can lend a hand, we would greatly appreciate it.  Clean up on Sunday mid-morning would be beneficial too.   Please email Wendy Weiss at wweiss4@gmail.com if you can assist at least 2 weeks prior to the event.  We would truly appreciate the assistance.

All Adult leaders must be trained in their current positions to remain on the unit Charter for 2015.

  • National Youth Leader Training - Registration ends June 15th - This a week long leadership training program for boy leaders developed by the Boy Scouts of America and offered by the Scout Council.  The week long conference is designed to train the Scout and Venturer in team building and leadership in an outdoor experience.flyer

Join the New Magic Venturing Crew! Open to boys and girls age 14 (or 13 and graduating 8th grade in June) to 20 who want to learn the art of magic and illusion. Crew meets fourth Wednesday of each month at the King of Kings Church, Middletown, NJ.
